Hello all. Soon I'll releasing Vortex V1.5. Here I want to show you some screenshots preview from Vortex V1.5. Vortex V1.5 have a simple and light theme. It use N8 Icons pack and I hope you'll like it. I also add Racing Thunder Global Race games into my CFW. Some other mods also have been added for better looking such as battery icon, lock icon, dialer icon and many more. For menu layout I use 3x4 because of majority results from the survey I've done.

ReplyDeleteim using vortex 1.4 for a while now, and im amazed. great job.
only one flaw bugs me. Nokia 5800 got a new feature in recent FW updates. when ur in messaging and u tilt ur phone sideways, the keyboard automatically switches the layout to qwerty. This option is very useful if ur using swype. no need to go to menu and change the input layout.
could this be corrected in vortex 1.5?

ReplyDeletei have found some small buggs in 1.4 but nothing noticable and big that would be a bother.
can't wait for the next release, as i know how and what to test.
any ideas or release dates set?

ah, here's a "bug" i remembered. when writing sms on 1.4, and u select big letters for a sentence and press new line (ending the sentence with a DOT or not doesnt make a difference) the letters stay capital. they dont auto switch back to First big rest small, like v52 did.

I have a small bug, or I don't know what's this :(. When call me somebody (and the keyboard lock is active) when I want to unlock my screen flashing, and the buttons flashing, and just when I shake the phone, show the screen :(, and other way not, what's this? :(. I have a Nokia 5800 XM v52...

ReplyDeleteSorry all for not answered your question..i want to mention here this Vortex 1.5 modding based on symbian^3 look..so all theme use default icon that is N8 icons pack..theme effects also changed to a simple one and not complex..for your information you actually cant modified my cfw to avoid from any bugs and about adding language you need to remove all third party apps in my cfw because all of them using english rsc files only..for example conversations app will make you cant enter messaging app..so you need to remove this app..or search for your language rsc file for this app..thanks..

ReplyDeletealso plz try to integrate an option for enabling or disabling the numerical version of qwert keyboard.. it litreally makes your icons smaller :( numbers we hardly use them.. so an option to turn it on & off is really appreciated :)
The unlocking vibrations loss of battery life can disable or integrate it under settings
i guess video camera has a Bug too because when your are clicking pictures camera behaves just normal, but the min you shift to video the camera zooms one step ahead hope you have noticed this? hope you rectify it.. and plz include share online feature lol :D apart from all this you rock mate !!! thanks alot

ReplyDeleteplease don,t remove some program like ovi contact and ovi sync . i use them a lot . and please do somthing with map to install another version . in 1.4 i tried to install another version and my phone say update error . tanx
i got problems (phone hangs) when using phone, for a long period, in handset mod (vortex 1.4);

Plz make sure you restart your phone at least once in 2 days.. our phones are just like computers RAM gets full and begins to hang or slow down :( Install Device Info sotware and monitor the RAM usage anything beyond 85% is a positive signal just restart your phone & check out the difference your phone will be using hardly 60% of RAM.. hope it helps..

(thats the phone info,pc on the other hand gets restarted once a month perhaps,and is always on :P)
Await ur new vortex 1.5 cfw ... There is some bug I'm facing in 1.4 cfw, my phone cannot open the Nokia Ovi Maps... after reinstall it for many times but facing same problem... but i still can use GPS... im using GMobile XT... can u fix it in 1.5 cfw... thanks

you'll restart your phone if you hold power button(mods)..you need to press(dont hold) power button then touch "Switch off!" option..
my next version have "Restart phone" option when you press power button..so it will not restarting when you hold power button and will shutdown normally.. :)

ReplyDeleteI don't know if it's a problem of my nokia 5800 or the cfw but sometimes it shows me that i removed my memory card when i haven't even touched it. I reckon this is a bug if it's because of the cfw or is it only with me?
ReplyDeleteYeah and Tanzeemuddin is right can't you implement these stuff from Symbians ^3 because i know it can't be done from the nokia n900 because it is a different operating symtem(maemo). Because it would be really cool to have homescreens like the Nokia N8.
Are you adding the New Nokia N8 Music Player to your cfw or not because the one that is now on the nokia is pretty slow and buggy. The idea for the 3 homescreen is really good if you can extract them from the Symbian ^3 code or whatever and after that put it in your cfw it would be really awesome and cool.

ReplyDeletewell if the three dots icon is fake and there are no 3 homescreens, maybe you should bring back the dialer icon, in order to keep it real, I don't like fake stuff.

ReplyDeleteI have problem with this CFW. I can't login at all on ovi store, the phone just locked, hanging up, I try direct link via my web browser, store.ovi.com/login, hanging up again.
