I have used navifirm to download the original firmware for my 5800xm V52.
I have also downloaded your 3 files. Should I just place your files in the same folder as the original firmware? Or do I have to rename your files to match the names of the files in the original firmware?
I am confused also by the uda files because my original is V52 and yours is V51, is this ok?

there is one more bug...
when u try to delete video after recording there is still error "camera already in use".
while taking images it doesn't showed up.just with videos.
i really don't face that problem m8..did you add other language?camera bug only fixed when using english language.. :)

ReplyDeleteyou need to backup contacts, settings, and user files using file manager before flashing..you also need to copy c:\sys\ folder to any folder in e:\ for example e:\others\ folder..then after you have flash your phone, restore backup files..phone will restart..then after phone restart apply Allpatches5800 in rompatcher..then delete c:\sys\ folder and copy paste sys folder that you backup before flash..then restart your phone..done.. :)

Phadly, the ROFS2 is full and doesn't have enough space to add a second language file. Which files / folders are easier and safer to delete in order to save 1-2 MB of free space?

Is there any way to modify these files? I would like to change the font without reflashing. Another thing, is the search app missing? Why?
ReplyDelete@marios you can create folder e:\resource\fonts..then make a 4 copy for font that you want to use..rename all of them with s60snr.ttf,s60ssb.ttf,s60tsb.ttf,S60DIGI.ttf..then paste all in e:\resource\fonts\ then restart your phone..or you can use fontrouter..you need to install fontrouterLT first using autoinstaller..about search app i dont know..try it m8.. :)

Phadly, I managed to replace your fonts with the default CFW ones but still couldn't get Greek to display properly on my device. Have you removed any other files from your CFW? Do you know how to open *.lang files and see the phrases they contain? The Greek characters that I type show up alright but all other ones (text in buttons, pop-up menus etc) are a mess (little squared characters). Can you please help? Apart from this little thing, your CFW is a blast! Amazing...

ReplyDeleteUpgrading the core is always allowed (when you flash to a firmware of higher version) but you can never downgrade. So you can easily flash to this CFW and you don't have to upgrade to v51 first if you want v52, you can flash to v52 directly.

2. Software updater fails to update the apps i've got
3.When in the music menu, trying to refresh the list, it tells that 0 found. I have over 350 songs. And when you go to all songs, press the left button, it goes back to the app.
Otherwise working good, i love it.
Please fix the message problem atleast!
BTW, i use finnish language in the phone, may this cause the problems?

ReplyDeleteDude, try the v3 emulator and set both the emulator and JAF's executable to run as administrator and in WinXP compatibility mode. Otherwise, JAF won't work in Vista/Win7.

ReplyDeleteNo, you don't have to re-cook this CFW in order to apply this patch. This CFW looks in the "private" folder in your memory card for any mods and if it finds any, it actually loads these instead of the ones in the firmware. So instead of extracting the firmware and putting this file in its "private" folder, place it in E:\PRIVATE\10282BC4\Rules. Perform a cold reboot afterwards for the mod to take effect.

ReplyDeleteYou cannot update via the FW updater but this is no bug. This has been fixed since Vortex v1.3 and you can find it in the changelog. Specifically
"When entering Device Updates from your Phone, it still shows "Check for Updates".This has been removed to prevent users from accidentally trying to update which causes a bricked device".

Hi, for those who struggle with the lack of other languages, there is the new Swype app. You at least get to write in your own language including special letters such as äöåü etc. It't still Beta, but it's free and it contains editable dictionaries for many languages.

Thanks alot phadly.. just finished flashing my phone and yeah Share Online is working like a charm :) i did modify the Boot Up SplashScreen ;)and forgot to change the shutdown one :(

there's this bug that when you use conversations after awhile, when an sms comes through, you will not receive any notifications (no sounds, vibrations and no small post card icon on the top right). Need to restart the phone, then it's ok. But this happens every time is use conversations.

ReplyDeletethis post is for those ppl who still ARE HAVING PROBLEM IN ADDING UP CONTACTS ON HOMESCREEN WIDGET....
THE PROBLEM IS THAT YR CONTACTS ARE IN OLD NOKIA 5800 XM FORMAT, SO U GOTTA CHANGE THEM TO NOKIA C6-00 FORMAT
HERE'S WHAT U HAVE TO DO..
1)FIRST MAKE THE BACKUP OF YR PHONE.
2)GO TO CONTACTS.
3)CLICK OPTIONS.
4)MARK->MARK ALL.
5)CLICK OPTIONS.
6)COPY BUSINESS CARD->TO OTHER MEMORY->E:MEMORY CARD.
7)IT MAY ASK "REMOVE EXISTING CONTACTS IN SELECTED MEMORY" THEN CHOOSE YES.
8)flash yr cfw again.
9)NOW GO TO FILE MANAGER->E:MEMORY CARD->OTHER->CONTACTS.
10)HERE U WILL FIND ALL YOUR CONTACTS IN .VCF FORMAT
11)OPEN THEM ONE BY ONE->SELECT OPTIONS->SAVE BUSINESS CARD.
12)*AFTER SAVING THEM ALL,YOU CAN NOW USE YOUR HOMESCREEN WIDGET FOR CONTACTS.
*NOTE: AFTER SAVING YOUR BUSINESS CARD !! DO NOT
RESTORE YOUR CONTACTS FROM THE BACKUP WHICH YOU MADE...OR THEY WILL REVERT BACK TO OLD FORMAT..!!
